Allegheny County Opening Three New COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department will open three new coronavirus vaccine clinics in Ross, Oakland and the Hill District. Shots will be available by appointment only. No walk-up registrations are available. All appointments will be announced through Allegheny Alerts and then posted on the county's COVID-19 vaccine page. Residents without Internet access, or having difficulty navigating the online registration system, may contact 211 for assistance in scheduling when appointments are available. Through a partnership with the University of Pittsburgh, the Petersen Events Center will be used as a vaccination site beginning Wednesday, with approximately 1,000 vaccinations being offered a day through the end of next week. Second-dose appointments will be provided at the same location in the 28- to 42-day window recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In Oakland, free parking will be available at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum, with free shuttles run between the garage and the Petersen Events Center. Staff will be on site Through a partnership with the Central Baptist Church in the Hill District and the Center for Integrative Health at Duquesne University, a clinic will open at the church on March 22. The Ross Township Community Center will begin operating as a clinic on March 23. As the Ross site ramps up, the Monroeville clinic will be used for second dose only clinics for those who received their first doses there. The county also runs another clinic in Castle Shannon.
