AURORA, IL — Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin is set to host a brief ceremony Tuesday night to memorialize hundreds of city residents who died from COVID-19 over the past year. Irvin declared a state of emergency in Aurora on March 16, 2020, two days after the city reported its first confirmed case of the coronavirus. Some relatives of the 250 Aurora residents who died from COVID-19 are expected to join Irvin at the memorial, which starts at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
