KANE COUNTY, IL — Kane County is making significant progress in its push to vaccinate more than a half-million residents against the coronavirus, with the county's vaccine rollout setting new highs in the past week, public health data shows. Vaccine administration in Kane County has sped up considerably over the past three weeks, according to statistics from the Illinois Department of Public Health. More than 6,100 doses were administered March 12, the most in a single day in Kane County. About 52,000 Kane County residents were fully vaccinated by Sunday, representing just under 10 percent of the county's population of 534,000, according to IDPH statistics. More than 149,000 doses were administered in Kane County by Sunday, the state's data shows.
