GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — An 18-year-old was walking down a Greenwich Village street on March 1 when she was unexpectedly hit with a hard object and then grabbed by the throat, according to police.
The unprovoked attack happened at 12:30 p.m. in front of 52 East 8th Street, police said.
According to police, the suspect didn't exchange any words before the attack and quickly fled.
The 18-year-old suffered bruising around her throat, but refused medical attention at the scene, according to police.
Police released pictures Monday of a man wanted in connection to the attack.
Photo courtesy of the New York Police Department. Less than a week after the attack, in an unrelated incident, a 68-year-old woman was sucker-punched in the head on March. 7 while walking down a Greenwich Village street, according to police.
Police confirmed there were also no words exchanged between the attacker and woman in this incident.
