BALDWIN, NY — Eleven puppies were rescued from a storefront in Baldwin Monday, where they were kept in unsanitary conditions, according to reports. According to ABC7, the Nassau County SPCA seized 11 puppies from Puppy 4 You, a locked storefront on Merrick Road. The SPCA had been notified about the store after multiple people had purchased dogs there, only to have them get sick and die shortly after. Newsday reported that when SPCA officials entered the store, they found 11 puppies — ranging in age from a few weeks to six months — with no water, little food and feces everywhere. The dogs were all removed and taken for veterinary care. Nassau County SPCA President Gary Rogers told Newsday that the storefront looked abandoned. Officials are still trying to find the owner of the dogs.
