Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 03/15/2021  UPDATE: The Atlanta Police Department is pleased to announce an arrest in the November 13, 2020 murder of 39-year-old Demario Fielder.  Officers responded to 1218 Joseph E Boone Blvd NW on a person shot call.  Officers located a male at the location with a gunshot wound to his chest.  He was transported to the hospital and despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced deceased.  Homicide detectives were notified and began to investigate the circumstances that lead to the death of Demario Fielder.   During their investigation, Homicide detectives were able to identify 37-year-old Fabian Sheats as a suspect in this case. Warrants were issued for Mr. Sheats for Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of A Firearm During The Commission of a Crime. On Monday, March 15, 2021, suspect Fabian Sheats, was arrested by the Smyrna Police Department on an unrelated charge and for his outstanding warrants out of Atlanta. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail without incident.  We are very grateful for our Homicide Detectives for their continuous hard work and identifying the murder suspect in this case.  Additionally, a huge thank you goes to the Smyrna Police Department for making this arrest!  Another murderer off of the streets of Atlanta!    Previously released: 203181702 On Friday November 13, 2020 at around 8:00pm officers responded to 1218 Joseph E Boone Blvd NW on a report of a person shot. On scene officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest. The male was taken to the hospital but died of his wounds. Preliminary investigation suggests that an the victim and several other males were involved in an argument that escalated to gunfire. The investigation is continuing. Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and could change as the investigation progresses or new information comes to light.
