Want to volunteer from home? Don't have tons of uninterrupted time? You can volunteer by indexing historical records for genealogy purposes! Records are collected from all over the globe and include birth, marriage, death, baptism, and civil records. Some of these records are quite old (I've indexed several records from the late 1500's) and indexing allows their information to be forever preserved. English indexers are needed, but there is an even more urgent need for those that have a high proficiency or are native speakers of a non-English language. Current projects are in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Albanian, Dutch, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Swedish, German, Hungarian, Icelandic, Japanese, Slovene, Portugues, Finish, Norweign, and Slovak.
