EASTON, MA — The Easton Fire Department responded to a fire at 99 Restaurant on Belmont St. early Saturday morning, said Fire Chief Kevin Partridge in a news release.
Firefighters from multiple departments, including Brockton, Stoughton, and West Bridgewater, were dispatched to the business at approximately 4:34 a.m. following a report of a mulch fire and a motion alarm activation, said Partridge. When they arrived at the scene, they found that they mulch surrounding the building and a container of rags on the side of the building had caught fire.
Fire officials were able to extinguish the flames and clear the scene shortly after 8 a.m. The restaurant sustained fire, water, and smoke damage and is expected to be closed for a week to two weeks.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious, remains under investigation.
