Press release from Escambia County Government: Mar 12, 2021 Escambia County will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Escambia County Correctional Facility on Monday, March 29 at 1 p.m. The media are asked to meet outside the new facility entrance, located at 3080 N. Pace Blvd., Pensacola at least 15 minutes prior to the event with their media credentials. Speakers will include:Escambia County Chairman and District 4 County Commissioner Robert BenderEscambia County District 3 County Commissioner Lumon MayEscambia County Corrections Chief Rich PowellEscambia County Sheriff Chip SimmonsCounty Administrator Janice GilleyChaplain William Leggett *One or more county commissioners may be in attendance. Media members are asked to email the Escambia County Communications team or call (850) 595-1647 to RSVP by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 26. The public is asked to RSVP online by March 22 for planning purposes. COVID-19 precautions will be taken. The event is expected to take place outside, and in the event of inclement weather, the event can be moved inside to a large space.
