Description

BOSTON, MA — Boston Public Schools are asking parents to tell them if they plan to send their student back to in-person learning full time when the option becomes available in April. Students in elementary school will be permitted back full time by April 5, the latest, and middle school students will be allowed back by April 28. Those guidelines were given by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education last week, and any district that thinks it cannot comply is required to apply for a waiver. Parents have the option to keep their students home full time, and continue with completely remote learning. BPS sent the survey to families to see how many will opt to send their kids to school in-person and set Monday, March 22 as the deadline for responses. Some Boston students have returned to in-person learning part time—on Monday, fourth through eighth graders returned to school buildings two days per week.
