Description
BEVERLY, MA — High winds, dry conditions and low vegetation prior to the growing season are making conditions ripe for brush fires on the North Shore this week.
Because of that, a red flag warning has been issued and there is no brush burning allowed in Beverly until conditions subside even for those who have a permit.
"A brush fire in town already got out of control and nearly extended to a house," Beverly fire posted as a warning on Saturday.
Those with a season burn permit must still call Beverly fire on the day of burning to make sure it is safe to do so.
The National Weather Service issued the red-flag warning on Friday — alerting that any fire may spread rapidly with no snowpack late in the winter.
