Description
NORWALK, CT — A dog suffered superficial scratches last week when it was thrown out of a moving vehicle on Connecticut Avenue, near Keeler Avenue, in Norwalk, according to police. An investigation into the incident is underway, and Norwalk police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect.
A witness called police at about 2 p.m. on March 9 to report seeing someone throw the dog out of the vehicle's passenger side window.
The caller retrieved the dog and stayed with it on the side of the road until an officer and a member of the department's Animal Control Unit arrived.
"The Animal Control Officer immediately brought the dog to a veterinary hospital to check for injuries," police said.
That same day, the dog's owners contacted animal control to report that they had lost their dog, and police were able to reunite them with their pet. But an active investigation continues to determine how the dog managed to end up on the roadway.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Norwalk Police Department through any of the following methods:
