NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — In the early morning hours of last Thursday, March 11, Patch told you how there was an armed carjacking in New Brunswick, where a man pointed a gun at another man and then drove off with his car.
The next day, March 12, New Brunswick Police say they arrested a local man and charged him with the crime.
Bryan Gomez, 30, from New Brunswick was arrested and charged with carjacking, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose and terroristic threats.
Police say that at 6:00 a.m. March 11, Gomez approached a parked car occupied by the adult male victim, displayed a handgun and demanded the occupant exit the vehicle. This happened on Hamilton Street near Harvey Street. Gomez took personal property belonging to the victim and then fled in the car.
No injuries were sustained. The car was recovered several hours later by New Brunswick policein another part of the city.
