Pre-K Teacher Minnehaha Area Child Care is a small, neighborhood play-based preschool and childcare center looking for someone FUN, energetic, and creative to join our team! Must have experience developing creative, project/process-based lesson plans appropriate PreK students (4-5 years), and incorporating the interest of the students into the lessons. Great communication skills with parents and coworkers a must! Candidate will work with another co-lead to share planning and prepping duties. Applicant must be Lead Teacher qualified according to DHS requirements (adequate education and experience hours), and have own transportation. PTO and medical/dental benefits. Shift is 8:30am - 5pm or 7:30am-4pm, Monday - Friday, with weekly paid prep time. $250 Signing Bonus after 3 months. Responsibilities Help develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschoolers Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, music etc.) to teach children Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.) Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times Track children’s progress and report to parents Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche Collaborate with other educators Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Skills At least three years of Lead or Assistant Teaching experience in a childcare setting is required, and knowledge of play-based learning is strongly encouraged.
