Come grow with us! General Purpose and Scope of Position: Assist in all aspects of plant operations. To include but not limited to; facility maintenance, manufacturing of fertilizer, forklift operation and general housekeeping. The role requires strong mechanical ability and aptitude. Must enjoy working with a diverse customer base in a fast-paced setting. Key Skills and Abilities Include: Knowledge and/or experience with agricultural operations (preferred) Willingness to operate material handling equipment including forklift and other equipment as required Ability to repetitively bend and lift boxes and bags up to 80 lbs. while working in a non-climate controlled Good computer, math and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments Willing and desires to work overtime hours during busy seasons High School Diploma or equivalent Key Personal Attributes Include: Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times Enjoys and embraces a diverse/variety of job duties and responsibilities A person should be versatile, flexible, and willing. Can effectively multi-task Work and contribute to a team approach/effort with a positive attitude and outlook Requires excellent interpersonal skills between both customers and fellow employees Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Included Batch Plant Operation Unload railcars of bulk product Fill tanks and trucks as needed Neatness and attention to detail on all paperwork Daily Maintenance and Cleanliness of all plant equipment and plant Maintain records of Daily Maintenance and Operations logs Ability to Learn, Operate, and Maintain fertilizer manufacturing equipment Tank Farm Operation Manage all bulk fertilizer tanks (liquid levels, labeling, maintenance, etc.) Coordinate with purchasing agent all ordering and scheduling of incoming bulk fertilizer deliveries Oversee tank farm cleanliness and upkeep Repair, maintain and be aware of any safety issues on all tank farm equipment Secure tank farm at the end of each day Ensure that all equipment and plumbing is properly maintained Wear proper safety equipment per SDS sheets of chemical being handled by an employee Chemicals utilized at this branch require the use of a respirator in case of an emergency Supervise the Load and unload of bulk tankers Monitor all tanks that are being pumped into or out of for leaks, spills or damage Ensure the security of the bulk product and all aspects of it which may include but are not limited to, locking out electrical switches and or pumps, making sure tank valves are in the closed position at the end of the day Making sure all pumps and valves are labeled correctly, whether it be on or off, open or close, or the correct chemical name All electrical cords and outlets are well taken care of Report any issues with equipment to a manager right away Other Duties Assist with repair work and equipment maintenance when needed Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring no product leaves, or enters the facility without the necessary paperwork Attend product training sessions and meetings when necessary All other duties as assigned Compensation and Benefits: Competitive hourly wage (to be determined based on experience and other factors) Benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, Employee Assistance Program, vacation, sick time, life insurance, + more); Pension Plan, 401k match up to 3% Drug-Free Workplace Interested in this position?
