The course explores, through a historical perspective, the sociopolitical factors impacting the education of African American learners. The course examines culturally relevant pedagogy, critical Black pedagogy and critical race theory as ways to improve the educational experiences of African American learners. Professor Abul Pitre who’s is the Chair of the Department of Africana Studies will be teaching this online course.
