Update: Due to the continuous rain, I have not been able to get out to my car and try the options, but I WILL. I'd like to thank EVERYONE for the so many great responses to this. I deeply appreciate your assistance! If I can get my SUV working correctly, I'll post it here and email everyone. I sincerely thank each of you!!! I have a 2002 Mercedes Benz SUV that is stuck in "Limp Home Mode" and will not go beyond second gear. My drink spilled onto the gear shifter and affected the circuit board in the shifter console. It has since dried out completely but the check engine light is still on. I had it tested but the OBD2 tester does not work on this vehicle. Does anyone know how to reset the check engine light? I had that done at O'Reilly's but it came right back on. I cannot travel because I can't go beyond 30 mph and I really do not want to damage my transmission. Please contact me if you have ideas.
