Press release from the City of Beaverton: October 20, 2020 BEAVERTON, Ore. –The City of Beaverton will continue providing a combination of remote, virtual and on-site city services to the public through at least Thursday, December 31. The decision to extend current operations supports efforts to maintain employee health, as well as the safety of visitors. It is also intended to provide ongoing stability as fluctuations in COVID-19 cases and adjustments at the state, county and local levels continue. "It is important that we proceed in partnership with area response to provide consistency and ease uncertainty," said Mayor Denny Doyle. "City services are available and we are finding more and more opportunities for safe interactions with community members. At this time, health and safety remain our top priorities. The city will continue to provide most services by phone or online, including housing and business resources, mediation and culturally-specific services, building permits and applications, utility billing and more. Library programs, city events, meetings, and other activities are happening virtually. The city has also initiated in-person visits for passports by appointment and some court and library services with distancing and other safeguards in place. Beaverton City Library is offering contactless curbside pickup service and book returns at both the main library and Murray Schools branch, and computer access at the main library. The extension of remote services is subject to change depending on circumstances. Beaverton's Emergency Declaration will continue to be extended bi-weekly as required in response to COVID-19.
