Bedloft.com partners with universities and colleges to provide furniture and refrigerators to student residence halls. Have very high integrity and ethical/moral standards – which are evident in your work and working relationships. Must be able to sustain rigorous physical activity when necessary. Ability and desire to meet our demanding schedule during peak seasons (80 hour weeks typical), with the understanding that the off-peak seasons offer a less demanding schedule. Approach work with a “team first” mentality. Ability to work from a home office setting connect to our server (standard internet access), when not on campus. Expect success – for yourself and the company. Ability to take broad directives, create a specific plan of action to achieve these directives, and to work to complete that plan without constant supervision. Account Management Responsibilities A key duty of the Area Manager position is to manage the company’s relationships at a number of partner schools and to acquire new accounts. Successful performance in this role will involve: Sell company’s products/services to new schools within a specified territory. Sales success will be rewarded on the basis of a scaled commission plan. Positively manage account relationships to increase the number of contacts within the accounts while simultaneously enhancing the quality of relationships within existing accounts. Prospect within current accounts to uncover new business opportunities to position the company to upsell, cross-sell, or penetrate new inroads to create new lines of revenue. Account growth will be tied to additional bonus/commission programs. Conduct Business Reviews on an annual basis with all key relationships & stakeholders within the account. Update and maintain key, required account information in company’s CRM software. Proactively seek to secure contract renewal/extension with existing accounts at least 12 months prior to the expiration date. In addition to other stated responsibilities, Area Managers may be given the opportunity to sell company’s products/services to new schools within a specified territory. Sales success will be rewarded on the basis of a scaled commission plan. Operations Responsibilities A another significant part of the Area Manager position is to manage the company’s operations at a number of partner schools. Successful performance in this role will involve: Managing rental programs at partner schools, according to standard operating systems. Hiring, training and supervising local program managers at partner schools. Identifying and contracting with local labor groups at partner schools. Completing and updating our school-specific operations plans (SSOP) for each school and ensuring that the plan is properly implemented. Ensure that all customer service issues in the region are handled in a timely and professional manner. Able and willing to drive a 26' box truck to assist in delivery of products Travel Our business is dependent on partnerships with colleges and universities nationwide, so travel will be a necessary part of the job and may occasionally include weekends. Regular travel will be expected to properly manage accounts and their associated relationships. Expect to travel more frequently during our “peak” times of the year (May, August and September). We will provide a vehicle, travel guidelines, and a travel budget. Reporting This position reports to the Director of Operations for operational functions and reports to the Director of Sales for account management functions. Compensation and Benefits The pay structure for this position will include a base salary plus bonus opportunity. Starting salary will be $35k per year, based on relevant experience and qualifications. Bonus will be based on performance, and the potential for commission exists. In addition to the pay mentioned above, we provide insurance (health, vision, life & long-term disability), paid leave (vacation, holidays & sick time) and a Simple IRA retirement program (similar to a 401(k)).
