How's it going everyone? My name is Carter James. A young but experienced singer, songwriter, rapper, and frontman who has taken great interest in getting back into a band after 10+ years of being absent from one. I am a versatile and dynamic individual who has a high-baritone/low tenor vocal range and I am anything but a STIFF on stage. I am who I am and I take my music and performing seriously. I currently do not have any current music you can listen to online, with the exception of my eight year old soundcloud posted here of my old rapping: www.soundcloud.com/carternillihcmasterjames I promise that my rapping has smoothed out since then. ;) Ideally, I would like to be in a hybrid sounding band. A unique mix of Rock 'n' Roll, Hip-Hop, and Funk...with the potential to have a solid mainstream sound. I want to find individuals who are not afraid to try new things. A group of individuals who have experience with their instruments, who can create music born out of a jam, and will allow me the FULL FREEDOM to my personality and persona. I want to find bandmates who want this as a career and not just as a "professional hobby". If you have a solid place to practice and rehearse, that would be a PLUS. My lyrics are focused almost exclusively on issues relating to personal integrity. I want to both sing and rap in the music we create. A nice blend of both would be ideal. I don't scream, but I am willing to learn. My influences are, but not limited to: Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311, The Ramones, Iggy and the Stooges, The Rolling Stones, INXS, Blink-182, Public Enemy, RUN-DMC, The Beastie Boys, Lenny Kravitz, Kurtis Blow, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Living Colour, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, Green Day, The Doors, Kool Moe Dee, LL Cool J, ZZ Top, Linkin Park, Black Sabbath, The Rollins Band, etc. I take my health and fitness seriously as well. I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. Never tried them once. I exercise everyday, and follow a vegan-vegetarian diet. Once again, I do want to do this as a career and something I want to take seriously.
