A unique all-day women's symposium, designed by local experts in the fields of Medicine, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, and Mental Health. Join us for a day of celebrating you & discovering your potential. Come ready to engage your mind, nourish your body & move with purpose. Relax. Restore. Renew. Who: Adult women (18 and over). Bring your girlfriends, sisters & moms. Attire: Comfortable and casual. Yoga, Tai Chi and Body Weight Exercise sessions will be offered. She obtained her Masters and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She has advanced training and certifications in both orthopaedics and manual therapy (hands on medicine). She is passionate about teaching her clients about topics such as body mechanics, postural awareness and becoming advocates for their own health and well-being. She will lead an interactive lecture on these topics and will incorporate movement and exercise applicable to all attendees. Bridget Easley, MS, RDN, LMNT has over 17 years of nutrition counseling and mindful eating expertise. She received her BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Northwest Missouri State University. She went on to complete her Masters degree in Nutrition and Health Sciences at the University of Nebraska. She began her private practice, Power Nutrition, on the premise that real, wholesome, nourishing good has the ability and power to provide the body with all the fuel it needs daily to be at its best, no matter what nutritional goals we have set for ourselves. Come discover how foods eaten impact the gastrointestinal system, mood, energy and motivation. Amy McCracken, APRN, DNP graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996. She received her diploma in nursing from Bryan School of Nursing in 1999 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2002. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2005. She graduated with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in May of 2013. She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the Nebraska Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She will discuss topics such as the mind-gut connection, signs of a healthy gastrointestinal system and how our daily lives and choices we make can affect our gut health. Krysta Oehm, MA, LIMHP, CPC has 8 years of experience in mental health. After graduating with her master’s degree in clinical counseling from Doane University in 2016, she opened her private practice, Mind Matters Mental Health and Wellness, in Lincoln’s Haymarket district. She practices on the premise that mental health and physical health go hand-in-hand and believes by wholly caring for both, we can become the best version of ourselves. Her experiences living and traveling in Asia for several years, as well as her experience as a Division 1 athlete, have honed her passion and knowledge in the mind-body approach and the importance of mental health. Krysta will lecture on exploring how to live your greatest life from a mental health and wellness perspective. She will discuss practicing mindfulness in a busy world, incorporating authenticity and personal values, managing stress and anxiety, and becoming aware of common signals of mental health fragility. Stefanie Urbom, PT, DPT, CLT-LANA received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Stefanie was trained in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and in the treatment of breast cancer rehabilitation and lymphedema therapy through Klose Training and Consulting. She has received additional training in manual therapy treatment techniques from Great Lakes Seminars. She earned her certification as a LANA-Certified Lymphedema Therapist through the Lymphology Association of North America and became a Certified Cancer Exercise Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. She will be educating participants on issues regarding pelvic floor dysfunction including dispelling common myths you are told as you move through different stages and phases of your life. She will be providing practical tips on how to use breath to bring awareness to the pelvic floor and ways to incorporate that same breath to improve your overall health and well-being.
