Press release from East Islip School District: March 13, 2021 Last month, students in East Islip's four elementary buildings – Connetquot, John F. Kennedy, Ruth C. Kinney and Timber Point – participated in World Read Aloud Day. For the past dozen years, this event has called attention to the importance of sharing stories by challenging participants to grab a book, find an audience and read aloud, and teachers, students and even parents joined in to read to the school community.
