We are looking for a positively driven individual to join our team as our custodian to support in facility cleaning and maintenance during operational hours. This candidate is focused on building upkeep and safety throughout our warehouse and office spaces. The ideal custodian should have the physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence is imperative. Through the course of review by our Operations Director, the candidate may have the opportunity to be cross-trained in the cleaning and daily maintenance of our application and printing machines. This is a temporary part-time (24-29 hrs/wk) position with the potential to grow into a full-time after 60 days. Schedule is flexible. (Monday- Friday: 7:00am - 4:00pm) About the company: (Thermal ID Tech) is a rapidly growing conglomerate compromised of several divisions that provide label, packaging, print and application solutions to a wide variety of industries from food and beverage, automotive to agriculture and safety. Your duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to: • Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting and cleaning employee workstation surfaces/floors • Perform maintenance and minor repairs (changing light bulbs, replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks, small plumbing issues related to sinks or restrooms, etc.) • Leaf blow dust/debris, and clean warehouse floor (by way of a Zamboni) • Maintain outer premises by dusting exterior windows, cleaning entrances and tidying up warehouse palette and dumpster areas • Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and restock disposables (e.g. soap, toilet paper, paper towels, etc…) • Weekly disposal and cleaning of employee refrigerators • Wipe mirrors and windows • Utilize insecticides to prevent infestation of pests • Report major damages to Operations Manager and oversee repairs • On occasion, may be tasked with moving/setting up desks for new workstations, setting up tables and chairs for in-house company lunches or in-house events • During downtime or department deadline oriented occasions may assist in various warehouse team-oriented tasks such as label application, jar cleaning, and/or warehouse organization Requirements • Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role • Ability to work around machines, climb and descend ladders, operate a variety of tools and equipment, and to operate a motor vehicle • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone and/or radio • Frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards • Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect work sites. Candidates must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment. • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances • Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components • Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices is a plus • Attention to detail, being resourceful and aware of all surroundings as how it pertains to overall look of facility • Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work • High school diploma is preferred but not required At time of appointment, candidate will undergo a full background check and must have a California Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record maintained throughout employment. Environmental Elements Candidates work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels. May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions. Exposure to chemicals, mechanical and electrical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes. They will also interact with individuals in interpreting and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures. Working Conditions Candidates may be assigned an on-call and irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays. ***This is an on-site position.*** COVID-19 considerations: We keep a daily log of employee temperature checks, provide company-branded face masks, and sanitize our work-stations and break areas before we leave for the day.
