Description
Welcome back to International House! Enjoy an art exhibition and activity inside, then join us for refreshments and community out front! Spring is finally here, and on Saturday, April 24, 10 am-3pm, International House of Rhode Island (IHRI) will present a brand-new exhibition, Exchange: Stories from the International House of Rhode Island, to welcome everyone back to the space. Curated by Deborah Krieger (Brown University MA in Public Humanities ’21), Exchange focuses on the stories of friendship, cross-cultural learning, and community that make IHRI such a special place. Featuring numerous art objects and gifts from the IHRI’s collection, visitors will have the opportunity to also share their impressions of, and reflections on, these works of art. Visitors are also invited to join us to enjoy international-themed refreshments provided by local vendors. This event will be in line with COVID-19 safety precautions. Beginning at 10am, eight people will be allowed to visit Exchange during each hour-long slot. Please sign up in advance through this event. Masks will be mandatory, and will be provided if necessary. Hand sanitizer will be placed throughout the exhibition space as well as at the front door, and latex gloves will be available upon request.
