Description

Press release from Monrovia Unified School District: Dear Monrovia Unified Community, From the very start of distance learning, Monrovia Unified has committed its time to ensuring our students and teachers have the tools and resources they need to be successful. In conjunction with those efforts, our Elementary and Secondary Task Force groups have worked tirelessly to develop Hybrid Instructional Models that allow our students to return for in-person instruction. Today, during a special meeting, our Board of Education approved the Elementary Hybrid Learning Plan as presented during the regular meeting on March 10. The hybrid plan, shown below, offers flexibility and support, allowing parents to drop their children off at school in the morning and pick them up when they are dismissed for lunch. Additionally, Hybrid Learning Pods will be created to assist with the supervision of those students who are unable to go home until 2:30 p.m. Please see the images below for an overview of our hybrid instructional schedule. The timeline for our Elementary Reopening Plan is as follows: Week of March 15: Commitment Forms, School Presentations, Teacher Technology Distribution Week of March 22: Cohort Assignments, New Hybrid Learning Pods Established, Learning Pod Orientation and Student Assignments, Two Days of Classroom Preparation (one hour distance learning) March 29 - April 1: Staggered return to school by grade level April 2 - 9: Spring Break (Make adjustments as necessary) Also attached is the registration information for the new Hybrid Learning Pods should your child require daycare. Please know that Monrovia Unified will continue to do its very best on behalf of the students of Monrovia. I ask that we continue to extend grace and support one another through this process. Sincerely, Dr. Katherine Thorossian, Superintendent Attached Files Hybrid Learning Pods Flyer (3).docx This press release was produced by Monrovia Unified School District.
