PEAK@TIEF Community Coordinator Position Announcement Organizational Mission: Our mission is to bring out the limitless potential in young leaders through extraordinary experiences and nurturing relationships. Position Mission: To facilitate the delivery of programming that offers growth and meaningful progression for youth throughout the summer in the Tiefenthaler Park. REPORTING AND RELATIONSHIPS The PEAK@Tief Community Coordinator reports to the Community Programs Manager and works directly with people of all ages during programming in the park and in the program center. POSITION AVAILABILITY Part-time beginning mid-May. Full-time June 7 through August 6, Tuesday-Saturday. Every Saturday is required. Hours: Tues.-Fri. 11 AM-7PM and Saturdays 9AM-5PM. BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY As a key member of PEAK@TIEF, PEAK Initiative’s park activation project, you will primarily: Plan and lead Community Camp, a daily drop-in program that includes lunch and Covid Safe activities for youth of all ages. Coordinate PEAK@TIEF external service providers and events Lead interest clubs for youth and families Plan and implement outreach efforts for PEAK@TIEF in Midtown Community Track critical data including attendance and participation notes, volunteer hours, meal tracking and park observations Distribute resources and information to park visitors that help mitigate the risk of contracting Covid-19. Supervise PEAK@Tief Community Counselor and volunteers Practice Covid-19 safety protocol at all times. The PEAK@Tief Community Coordinator works with the Community Engagement Manager to modify programs based on the needs of the community and success of programming on a regular basis. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Key competencies: Grit, Growth Mindset, Self Management, Teamwork, Empathy, Confidence, Positive Energy, and Initiative. Belief that with the right supports and access to quality programs and experiences, all young people are able to achieve at the highest level imaginable. Calm under duress and able to make critical decisions in a quick and logical manner to minimize risk and to ensure safety and well-being of participants and staff. CERTIFICATIONS Valid CPR and First Aid certification is required for this position (PEAK can support training.) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Experience serving youth facing adverse childhood experiences, social and/or economic hurdles; comfort with de-escalating conflict and engaging with unfamiliar adults and youth as a member of a diverse multidisciplinary team. Experience in direct service programming is a must. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Competitive hourly rate PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS You will be in constant motion interacting and moving for activities throughout the day. You must have the ability to maintain a positive attitude under adverse conditions or situations.
