We seek an enthusiastic, self-motivated Maintenance Technician to facilitate maintenance at Beekman on Broadway, located in Ann Arbor. Beekman on Broadway is a 254-unit, new construction, midrise apartment community that began first occupancy in in mid-December. This position offers a great opportunity to work at a brand-new, state-of-the-art property. We seek an individual who is experienced in multifamily building maintenance. The position requires strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate works well with minimal supervision, is a team player, takes initiative, and is willing to work flexible hours as necessary. The responsibilities of the Maintenance technician include, but are not limited to: - Work closely with the maintenance supervisor and construction management team to “punch” units and ensure quality control - Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, electrical systems, appliances, pool equipment and other building systems - Demonstrate general skills in basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and craftsmanship - Respond to resident work orders and ensure timely 24-hour completion - Serve as on-call emergency contact for afterhours building emergencies in rotation with the maintenance supervisor - Perform routine preventative maintenance as directed - Coordinate and perform work necessary to restore vacant apartments to move-in ready condition when tenants vacate including, but not limited to, cleaning, painting, reprograming locks, and other repairs as necessary - Ensure all common areas, corridors, and grounds are clean and maintained in pristine condition daily - Take trash containers out and in for trash pick-up service - Perform janitorial work as necessary - Conduct move-in and move-out inspections as directed - Obtain and maintain a CFC Universal Certification - Demonstrate verbal, written, and organizational skills - Provide superior customer service to all residents and prospects - Comply with the Fair Housing Act, OSHA guidelines, and all other federal, state and local laws as they pertain to the apartment industry - All other duties as required by your supervisor Requirements: 1 plus years of prior multifamily maintenance experience HVAC certification and CPO certification preferred Must be willing to work flexible hours and be available for emergencies as required Typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm Must live nearby to ensure timely emergency call response Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16.00 + per hour based on experience
