This Advanced Lawn Care Technician role is a leader in our company. You will have tremendous support from your peers in a professional and team oriented environment. This candidate must be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of lawn care application practices to include: diagnosing turf problems, performing fertilizer and pesticide applications, calibrating application equipment, mixing liquid products for applications, order product as necessary, operate equipment, basic maintenance to equipment, scheduling of applications, and communicating with managers. Position requires minimal supervision and conducts all jobs in a safe manner and, if necessary, directing another crew of one or two other employees. The Advanced Lawn Care Technician is required to complete all paperwork and administrative requirements related to the job while creating and maintaining a professional job atmosphere. Reports To: Landscape General Manager Skill set and requirements: • 3+ years’ experience performing fertilizer and pesticide applications and diagnosing turf problems • Possess a Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator License • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management is preferred, but not required • Possess valid driver’s license & DOT certification and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy • Have a clean criminal record • Legal documentation to verify employment eligibility • Able to lift 50 pounds without any assistance • Able to interact with clients and other employees in a professional and courteous manner Responsibilities: • Thoroughly understands all aspects of lawn care management as outlined above. • Operates company equipment: z-sprayer, push spreaders, backpack blowers, truck sprayers, trucks, etc. • Ability to read and understand fertilizer and pesticide labels. • Ability to lay out the job site and order materials. • Ability to diagnose issues and provide thoughtful solutions. • Ability to schedule jobs • Abide by state pesticide regulations • Keeps lawn care service vehicles and trailers neat and properly stocked at all times. • Orders and manages lawn care inventory. • Ability to assist account managers with lawn care estimates. • Clear, concise and punctual reporting of daily work. • Has the leadership capability and demeanor to effectively manage and direct a crew of 1-2 people. • Meets or exceeds company production standards for lawn care service work. • Ensures that jobs are kept on schedule and on budget. Salary, bonus, and/or commissions: Commensurate with experience. Success factors: • Is a high-energy, self-motivated individual capable of helping to supervise one to two crew members. • Is positive and always solutions driven. • Is organized in all areas (field operations, crew truck, job sites, etc.). • Leads by example. • Presents himself or herself in a professional manner. • Initiates action when needed. • Anticipates problems and plans ahead for needed equipment, and assistance. • Requires little to no supervision.
