Job Description Leicester Country Club is an 18 hole public golf facility located 10 minutes from downtown Worcester. We are currently seeking a Golf Course Superintendent to manage our course, grounds and facilities. Job Function Responsible for all aspects of golf maintenance, turf operations, cost controls and personnel management. Administration of purchasing program as it relates to turf care, equipment maintenance as well as floral, shrub and tree installations. Basic facility repair and maintenance as needed. Including but not limited to snow removal, light painting, carpentry and heavy duty porter work. Primary Duties Oversee the care and maintenance of turf, ornamentals, shrubs, trees, traps and hazards of an 18 hole golf course. Work in conjunction with General Manager in regards to facilities management and special projects. Recruits, supervises and retains maintenance staff through use of performance evaluations and disciplinary action when necessary. Provides technical, operational and safety training for all maintenance employees. Supervises and participates in the application of all chemicals and fertilizers per state, federal and manufacturer guidelines. Controls expense of golf course operations including payroll, maintenance, equipment, supplies, chemicals and fertilizers. Coordinates snow removal and as needed maintenance activities. Required Skills Knowledge of the game of golf. Knowledge of standards in Golf Turf/Course management and maintenance. Knowledge of turf chemicals and fertilizers as well as irrigation equipment. Ability to manage, train and motive a staff. Interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with, members, vendors, club management and club guests. Qualifications At least 3 years of experience in golf course maintenance. At least 1 year of experience in golf course management. Pesticide certification preferred or obtained within 60 days of employment. Associate's degree in Horticulture, Turf Management or similar preferred Small equipment repair experience a plus Valid US drivers license. Available to work weekends Ability to lift 50 LBS
