Many families have been impacted by Covid-19. Some daycares and centers have closed, or decreased their enrollment due to the new regulations. This is leaving a lot of children without care! Some families feel uncomfortable sending their child to a center with a larger amount of children due to this pandemic. Smart Cookies Childcare on West Street in Gardner has made some exciting changes to accomodate older children who need preparations for Kindergarten. We are currently enrolling children between the ages of 2 and 5 for our Preschool/Pre-K program. Smart Cookies Childcare is a licensed home daycare. I have been working in the field of early childhood for almost twenty years. My experience ranges from working at licensed centers as a certified teacher with all age groups ranging from infants to school age as well as carrying the role of Director for 2 different childcare centers. I decided 4 years ago when my oldest son was born to open my own daycare and here we are!
Smart Cookies is opened 7:30 to 4:30 Mondays through Fridays and offers older children a home away from home in a loving and safe environment. During the summers we are outside most days having fun in our spacious playground and when September comes, we begin a more structured program with a letter of the week, handwriting activities, math and science experiences and art. We also have an indoor grossmotor room for rainy days which is a HUGE lifesaver that many families appreciate.
