Seeking local house/bass music DJ's to form collective

Description

Post keeps getting flagged, so I'll keep this as short as possible. The pandemic won't last forever, and it's time to give REAL electronic music heads a place to call home. I'm starting a new collective to hopefully solve that! Who I am: Former Deep Groove Society member and Sundaze resident from Arcata, CA starting in 2009. I play house, UK dubstep and some bass music. What I bring to the table: Pretty much everything we need. I have a serious new PA system, transportation, and even all the goodies for outdoor events like a generator, etc. I have a DDJ AIO and access to CDJ's and a Pioneer DJM. Experienced in throwing events and promoting. Who YOU are: A capable DJ who plays music that isn't top 40, hip-hop, pop/pop EDM. Preference shown for house music and other genres that people here on the east coast will understand- I love experimental music, too, but our job is not to change the entire scene here all in one shot. It's got to be a gradual introduction to real electronica. Available at least one or two nights a month to play and help with load in/loadout. Able to lift 75 lbs (subs are 150# each) is a big plus. Diversity: This is definitely a goal. Race, gender, orientation, etc. We'll take all based on experience and talent. Here's the process: Send me a link to a demo, or email one to me at the link above. At first I'll be looking for 4-6 people who I think will be a good fit together and go from there. I'll then create a promo pack and start shopping us around to local clubs in the D-Town and New Hope area, with the goal of a weekly or twice-monthly gig. Potentially on Sunday or Friday nights. My sound will be a requirement- there's a serious lack of real sound in this area being used as it should be, and I plan on helping to change that. Our audience will FEEL the music as intended ;) Well, that about sums it up. As far as a name, I'm not too picky. It should either be a group decision or potentially a charter of Deep Groove Society, pending permission from my friends. We'll discuss. If you made it this far, thanks and sending love and light. Hit me up. -Greg
