But he tried to pretend the barn wasn't on fire. When it became obvious the barn was on fire, he tried to convince everyone that fire and smoke were not a threat to those inside. He tried to pretend that the fire wouldn't harm the structure of the barn. He did call the fire department, and he tried to take credit for their expertise in extinguishing the fire. He also tried to pretend that he was the the only person, whom it occurred to call the fire department. Let's all be thankful that the little boy is not watching the barn, any longer.
