Need mechanic for 86 4runner. I have a 1986 Toyota 4Runner with a 22re motor. I rebuilt the motor several years ago and it now has about 15,000 miles or so. Now, I have a problem with it running very rich and sputtering. I will be taking it up to Colorado at the beginning of next month and need to have it ready by then. I personally suspect it might have something to do with the TPS and or timing. The vehicle is in large shop space already with abundant tools. I simply have been too busy to spend some time on it. I need someone to pay who is experienced with the 22re motor and is familiar with the diagnostic process for the TPS sensor among other things who can help me work on this and get it going. I have already replaced plugs and wires. Also, it is a relatively new motor. New injectors. Fuel pump replaced several years ago.
