Position Description: Assist in performing manual work in floor covering and tile installation, maintenance, repair and removal while operating basic tools
Principal Responsibilities:
Load & unload materials
Assist in preparing surfaces by sweeping, scraping, sanding or correcting irregularities from base surfaces to form smooth and clean foundations
Assist in mixing and applying required compounds to join and adhere foundation/flooring material
Assist in installing carpet, sheet vinyl, wood, laminate, tile, and other specified products
Assist in keeping job site cleaned and maintained throughout installation process
Use and maintain hand tools, portable power tools, and stationary power tools in a safe manner
Monitor processes. Ensure efficiency and effectiveness to complete work in a timely manner while being accurate.
Job Requirements:
Basic knowledge of tool and equipment safety, ability to identify and correct environmental or other workplace hazards
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean, current three year driving abstract
Physical Demands:
Requires strenuous physical work including heavy lifting, working on hands/knees, pushing, or pulling objects and being in dusty conditions is common
Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, crouch, kneel, squat and go up and down stairs
