Wheel Scorcher at Fire Mountain race is your ticket to 2021’s Race for the Rail. Wheel Scorcher Street Comp at Cherokee Skate Park is 6/13 Join us June 11-13, 2021 in beautiful Cherokee, North Carolina for an event unlike any other. The Wheel Scorcher at Fire Mountain is a downhill Onewheel race in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. Come enjoy all Cherokee has to offer while racing in one of the most epic Onewheel downhill races on the planet. Fire Mountain Trails provide the perfect backdrop to such an epic weekend. This race has something for everyone to enjoy! The Wheel Scorcher race is your ticket to 2021’s Race for the Rail, as well! We are able to accommodate 300 racers for time trials on Saturday, June 12, 2021. . Time trials will take place on one of the fastest, flowiest, 3 mile sections of downhill in the east. Top female and male competitors will advance to the official Race for the Rail qualifying bracket where they will race a 3 mile downhill section of blue/black (flowy and technical) rated terrain on ORL Certified Racing Boards Onewheel boards provided by Onewheel and Wheel Scorcher. Finals will be held on Saturday, June 12 with the top female and top male racer winning $500 and an invitation to Race for the Rail. Sunday morning, prepare for the sickest streetstyle comp the Onewheel world has seen yet. We have been lucky enough to secure the Cherokee Skate Park on Sunday, June 13. Event will kick off at 10am. The park is open to Onewheelers all weekend (and any time)though. So, feel free to cruise over there through out the weekend to hit up some practice time when you're not hitting the trails of Fire Mountain. The town of Cherokee offers loads of camping, air bnb and hotel options while visiting. Harrahs Casino is just 2 miles from the event, fly fishing is abundant, Cherokee Skatepark is Onewheel friendly, Fire Mountain trails will be open (except the race course) and there are loads of great food and dining options. Cherokee does not disappoint.
