This position’s main function is to do routine or major maintenance, make repairs and modifications to equipment, to set-up and tear-down equipment, customer training and complete all necessary documentation as assigned by the Director of Engineering or any Refrigeration crew member who maintains a higher job classification. Such equipment might include, but not be limited to, condensers, ice generators, ice machines, ice plates and condenser coils. This individual will work on projects and be task driven. A Lead Refrigeration Tech will need to be able to work alone, analyze a problem, determine the best course of action, secure materials needed to remedy the problem and complete the repair. A Lead Refrigeration Tech will, at times, also monitor the ammonia refrigeration systems to maintain proper cold room temperatures in all facilities, monitor equipment for proper working order, perform a plant check several times daily to be sure that condensers, compressors and ice machines are all operating properly, to check and maintain chemical levels at an appropriate level and to communicate with the ice dock employees to be aware of their ice needs and maintain a sufficient ice supply. Additionally the servicing of ammonia refrigeration and ice equipment is part of a Watch/Maintenance Engineers responsibility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: · A Lead Refrigeration Tech could be called upon to fill in for or help out either the Watch/Maintenance Engineer or the Lead Refrigeration Tech. · Travel out of town, state or the country will be required of a Lead Refrigeration Tech. · A Lead Refrigeration Tech will make repairs as assigned by the Director of Engineering or any Refrigeration crew member who maintains a higher job classification on a task basis, maintain equipment, operations and services per the direction of the Director of Engineering, any Refrigeration crew member who maintains a higher job classification or the General Manager. · Complete projects and tasks as assigned, using his best judgement as to the appropriate course of action. · Secure need materials and supplies. · Follow all necessary safety steps, including but not limited to Lock-out/Tag-out procedures. · The Lead Refrigeration Tech will need to perform these job duties at any location to which he is assigned. OTHER DUTIES: As assigned by the Director of Engineering, any Refrigeration crew member who maintains a higher job classification or the General Manager. Education and Training · High School education or equivalent, Refrigeration training · Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Refrigeration experience · RETA certification – either CARO or CIRO level or the equivalent. · Forklift training and have an operator’s license (or be able to qualify for an operator’s license) If you are interested in applying, please go to:
