Stone masonry apprentice position Arabella Stone Co. is looking for Entry Level Installation Crew Members to join our talented team of craftspeople to learn the craft of stonework. This is a full-time position with lots of flexibility. Duties include Learning all portions of the project from demo to final clean-up, assisting, moving materials, driving trucks, building patios, walls, fireplaces, steps, etc. We seek positive and energetic people who are flexible and enjoy working collaboratively with others in an outdoor environment. You will be expected to be professional, work hard, and open to learning the craft of stone masonry. Starting wages are 17-20 based on qualifications, but we care more about the right fit than the cheapest pay. Arabella Stone Co. is a specialized natural stone installation company that can work all year round if needed, located in South Minneapolis. We take great pride in the craftsmanship of our projects and are known for our creative use of natural stone for outdoor spaces. Job duties include: ● Assist in all aspects of building a landscape including demo, hardscape, site prep, and clean up. ● Assist foreman with job-related tasks including preparation and layout of job sites prior to the beginning of a project. ● Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to perform work activities. ● Operate various tools and equipment, including: measurement equipment,compactors, shovels, hammers, drills, grinders, saws, etc. ● Assist in the construction of hardscape elements (steps, patios, walls, etc) using best practices. ● Assist with light carpentry elements (building forms, falsework, etc). ● Perform land clearing activities, dig ditches or trenches. ● Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying ● Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis. ● Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects. ● Drive and operate company vehicles safely to and from job sites and material vendors. ● Maintain a clean and orderly job site. ● Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times or as equipment or tools specify. ● Training for all aspects of our masonry projects and processes. ● Clear and positive communication with clients and other crew members ● Comply with all company policies and regulations Skills required: ● High School Diploma, GED or equivalent ● Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. ● Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) ● Lift a minimum of 80 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift ● Time management skills – be on time. ● Ability to be trained on materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices including: walls, patios, steps, etc. ● Work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team ● Walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks ● Work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials ● Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner ● Work in a fast-paced environment ● Good manual dexterity ● Excellent stamina is required ● Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis ● Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold ● Positive and collaborative attitude ● Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work and/or overtime. ● Typical work hours are Monday - Friday – 7-5 pm Please send cover letter and resume to Kristof For more info visit our website - www.arabellastone.com
