We work with companies in the cellular and power utility industries, helping them respond to disaster events by providing a variety of services. If you are here, we know you are looking into Damage Assessment. If you aren’t sure what this is, Damage Assessors are responsible for surveying damage, and will be trained to identify primary and secondary electrical facilities including poles, primary wires, secondary wires, services, primary insulators, transformers, fuses, reclosers, substations, etc. They will need to demonstrate proficiency in distinguishing these facilities. They also need to be able to identify the difference between electrical, cablevision, and telephone lines. (The exception is TEAM LEAD, this position manages 10-15 crews and is more of an administrative position. A Team Lead should be an expert in the utility distribution field, able to assist crews in the field with troubleshooting scenarios. If you are interested in the Team Lead position, let us know. But don’t waste our time or yours if you are not qualified.) Back to the Storm Damage Assessor…. These are 2 person crews, using one of their vehicles to perform the job. One person must pass our training and test to prove their ability, the other person does not need to pass the test, but must watch the video, and we hope one day will pass the test so that they may be a Damage Assessor one day. Pay rates: DA Team Lead $40-$64/hr (oversees 10-15 crews) Damage Assessor (passes test) $25-$34/hr Partner (does not take test) $16/hr passenger or $20/hr if the driver There is a vehicle per diem for the owner of the vehicle.
