EVANSTON, IL — Police are investigating a triple shooting Friday afternoon a block north of Evanston Township High School. Three men were taken to Evanston Hospital after ambulances were dispatched to the 1800 block of Hovland Court for a report of multiple people shot, according to police. Two of those shot, a 20-year-old and a 21-year-old, later died at the hospital, while an 18-year-old has been treated and released, according to police. Their identities have not yet been publicly released pending family notifications. Police said preliminary investigation indicates the shooting was "not a random act." Images from the scene show evidence markers near the front steps of a brick home. According to a statement from police, the initial investigation suggests that the three gunshot victims, aged 18, 20 and 21, were sitting on the porch of the home when a single gunman walked up and opened fire.
