Press release from Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods: March 12, 2021 Veterans are invited to explore the beauty of Chicagoland through their own lens! Brushwood Center is partnering with local Chicagoland nature parks and preserves to offer the Nature Platoon Challenge, a multi-season photography and birding journey for Military Veterans, current service members, and their family members. The challenge is simple: 1) Attend a series of five virtual photography and birding workshops from March 20 - April 24. 2) Visit partner nature sites across Chicagoland from May through September. Enjoy self-guided walks and/or small group tours to capture the beauty of birds and nature through your lens. 3) Submit photos for inclusion in the Veteran's Day Nature Platoon Photography Exhibition by September 20. 4) Enjoy the Veterans Day Photography Exhibition on November 11.
