Press release from Catholic Charities Community Services: March 12, 2021 A free, daylong, virtual workshop organized by Catholic Charities Community Services as part of its New Americans Campaign will provide step-by-step review of the naturalization process, assess participants' ability to naturalize and assist with application preparation. The workshop, on Friday, March 19 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the virtual format provided at the time of registration, also will include review of applications by an immigration attorney or qualified legal representative. Qualified individuals may be able to waive the $750 application fee. To register, call (602) 616-0977 or visit www.catholiccharitiesaz.org. Documents needed for citizenship include: • 2 copies of legal permanent resident card (Green Card) • 2 passport-style photos, 2-inches by 2-inches • Copy of ID or driver's license • Residence, employment and travel history for the past five years (a worksheet will be provided at registration). • Copy of any police reports that may have been filed involving the individual • Copy of any court disposition reports that may have been filed involving the individual • Selective Service registration for men who lived in the U.S. between the ages of 18 and 26 Information about spouses • Name, date of birth, country of origin, date of marriage, current place of employment and Alien number, if applicable. • If spouse is naturalized, the date of naturalization • Information about any previous marriages including name of prior spouse, country of citizenship, date of birth, date of marriage, date marriage ended and the reason and immigration status. If applicable, bring the divorce decree. Information about parents, biological children, stepchildren or adopted children • If participants parents are U.S. citizens, bring information that includes full names, date of birth, date her or she became U.S. citizens and alien number. • For children: full names of all children (living and deceased), date o birth, country of origin, immigration status and home address, if they are not living with the workshop participant. Registration fee, for those who do not qualify for a waiver, is $750 and must be in the form of a money order or cashier's check payable to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
