Bass Player Needed

Meets

Hiram GA

Description

We're in a newly formed band of older, mature musicians in need of an experienced, dependable, solid bass player that is versatile and enjoys playing music of several genres including Blues, Quiet Storm R&B, Funk and even some Classic Rock along with a few originals mixed in. We have a full lineup including a female lead singer and have a temporary fill-in on bass and so need someone that can commit to a weekly 2 hour rehearsal (usually on Saturday afternoons but scheduling is somewhat flexible). It's very important to us that prospective band members be able to learn/prepare 5 or so songs each week on their own. You also need to be able to follow chord charts and lead sheets and be knowledgeable of basic music theory. We are fully aware of the number of play-for-pay musicians in the Atlanta area. We would prefer someone that could be an actual member of the band, a team player and more concerned with making good music than making money though we will be making some money once we are ready to gig. If you are a play-for-pay type that isn't doing much music these days and can commit to a weekly rehearsal for 8-12 weeks, we could cover your travel expenses and of course pay you an equal share of whatever we make gigging once we're ready. We are currently rehearsing in Hiram, Georgia which, depending on where you live in the Atlanta area, would be a 30-45 minute drive on a Saturday afternoon when traffic isn't so heavy. If you're interested, it's VERY important that you reply with your name, direct contact information (email and phone number), a brief musical bio and audio/video samples (links) of your talents. A real-time telephone interview is also required once communication is established. Replies that do not contain this requested information will be ignored.
