Union Settlement Business Development Center / Buy Local East Harlem : support East Harlem businesses and attend our cash mob!
It's no surprise that small businesses have experienced temporary closures, and complete shutdowns because of this pandemic. It is our intention to help our East Harlem small businesses by focusing attention, one at a time and bringing in some additional money.
A cash mob aims to provide a quick infusion of cash to a local East Harlem business. In partnership with Metro Hope Church, Redeemer East Harlem, Church of Living Hope, Church of Resurrection
Metro Hope Church and partners will call their congregants to action to support a select business, on a select day, usually a Saturday or Sunday. Congregants “mob” the business and spend their money. It's a quick, effective way to generate income for a business they otherwise would not have made. Our next cash mob will be held at Bistro Casa Azul, 343 Pleasant Ave (@118th Street) on Sunday, March 21st at 1:30.
You too can come out and support our East Harlem businesses!
Masks required and social distancing respected. Bistro Casa Azul has both outdoor patio seating and street / sidewalk seating.
BUY LOCAL EAST HARLEM aims to keep money in the community by encouraging larger institutions, residents and businesses to purchase their goods locally. Creating long-term, sustainable relationships will ensure a vibrant local economy that keeps storefronts open, people employed and families supported. Buy Local is an initiative based out of the Union Settlement Business Development Center.
