Description
#3 Parks along Greenways -celebrate Longmont's 150th birthday celebration by bike! As Longmont extended South of the river and the railroad, neighborhoods and parks were developed, followed by City amenities, including pools, the Museum, tennis courts and public art. By this time, greenways became part of the planning process and were integrated in the plans to connect the residents to the parks, schools and more. Out and back ride 100% on greenway/bike path. Parks visited: Quail Campus, Sandstone Ranch, Kanemoto, and Lefthand Creek. Mileage: 20. Rain/snow date: Saturday, April 24, 9:15 AM. All tours guided by former City of Longmont Parks Project Manager and author Paula Fitzgerald and Traffic Safety Coordinator and former Art in Public Places Administrator lauren greenfield.
