Join A Tour Of Her Own and Habitat Young Professionals on a one-hour walking tour of the new callboxes installed in downtown D.C. celebrating women's history in the city!
While callboxes were once part of the city's emergency services system, today many stand as public art installations. Eight boxes have recently been converted to share the story of eight significant women in our city's history, ranging from Katherine Graham to Alice Paul, Mary Church Terrell to Julia Ward Howe. This brisk one hour tour will make a quick stop at each callbox and we'll learn about the women who helped shape our nation.
This tour will begin outside the old Post Pub located at 1422 L St. NW, Washington, DC 20005. We will begin promptly at 5:30pm. We ask that all members wear a mask throughout the duration of the tour and maintain proper social distancing. This event is open to all who are interested!
