Come Ruck with us! TEAM WICHITA have put on hiking events in Kansas for more than a decade and have had a presence here in Wichita for even longer. This upcoming event will be the first in conjunction with the Warrior Battalion charity as we ruck/run/walk to end veteran suicide. Warrior battalion Ruck March is a hiking event lasting anywhere from 3 to 22 hours, in an attempt to raise awareness of the 20 veterans that commit suicide every day, and to raise funds that will help provide healing programs for military families. The WARRIOR BATTALION Charity is preparing to send Veterans to retreats around the country to stave off crisis. Many veterans are suffering from PTSD right now and it is believed that time spent with others who know their struggle and have similar experience can reduce the number of veteran suicides. In order to accomplish this mission we are asking for your help as we host the 2nd annual WARRIOR BATTALION ruck/walk/run to bring together veterans, families and cadets who can benefit from the comradery and knowledge that comes from the amazing heroes in our community. The WARRIOR BATTALION Charity and TEAM WICHITA have partnered with USD 259 to provide a challenge like no other. It is up to you how much you challenge yourself. Bring a pack or don't, add weight or run during the event; it is completely up to you how much of a challenge you will accept. We carry weight during the ruck to symbolize the weight that our heroes come home from combat with and the immense challenge of rucking 9 hours is more than enough to push your mind and body to the brink. You can ruck 3-6-9 hours at this event and those who raise $100 or more for charity will receive a 3 or 6 hour patch depending on time completed. Veterans and their families and any USD 259 JROTC/Leadership cadet will be free. We ask for a charitable donation of $50 for anyone else who joins us in our mission to end veteran suicide.
