C-6 Disposal is looking for helpers to assist in the collection of our trash/recycle routes. The hourly rate depends on experience. Class C Drivers License This position involves a number of physical requirements in order to make sure the vehicle and equipment are operated in a safe and efficient manner. In order to perform the following tasks the helper should be in good physical condition. o Riding in & Operating the Assembly of Motor Vehicle –Includes operating associated mechanical and hydraulic equipment (including levers that lift cans in excess of 200 lbs), rolling totters to and from residents homes to the vehicle opening and closing enclosure lids, moving cans on casters/wheels, working ratchets, cleaning of truck and cleaning behind blade, cleaning back door seal area, checking top of truck for loose debris along with performing a daily pre-trip and post trip of unit. o Moving Controls to controls a variety of functions: opening and closing tail gate and performing the lifting of carts, the sweeping of blade and back packing load. o Cleaning up Scattered Refuse-May include shoveling, lifting, throwing, etc. o Maintaining visual contact with the driver assigned at all times. o Remaining Constantly Alert- to be aware of pedestrians, other drivers, and the entire general public. We work in different types of weather and must observe all safety precautions while under these conditions. o Heavy Physical Labor- Generally includes, lifting carrying heavy objects, closing doors, climbing in & out of truck, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, above the shoulder horizontally, pushing & pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of buttons, use of feet to get on and off the truck and move along with the truck as the driver is performing his job. o Perform Entry Level Maintenance-Assisting in inspecting equipment for air-leaks, and checking hydraulic equipment for safe and proper operation o Cleaning interior of Vehicle and exterior utilizing a pressure washer system. o Reviewing route sheets and performing work as described on route sheet. Asked to give input as the order in which sequence of service is performed.
