With Covid vaccines becoming a reality and restrictions lifting, there must be many performers, actors, dancers, improv, variety acts, musicians and comics ready to blow the dust off. New to G'boro, I'm a retired ex-pro actor/director/musician, BFA NYU, ex SAG-AEA, with over plays and 20 films experience. I'm looking to organize a small cadre of like minded artists for weekly, socially distanced (at first) meetups where we can perform, get feedback, hear laughter, applause, suggestions and be creative again. This can evolve into almost anything, from cabaret to scene study to spoken word/rap sessions to a full showcase revue for friends, agents and family. The direction we take will be democratically chosen.
If I get 4-5 strong responses I'll look into renting a few hundred sq ft of space near a bus line. We should have mirrors, maybe a barre, enough light so we can be seen and a circle of chairs we can brush up our audition pieces. No shortage of vacant space, post COVID. So, drop a line, brush up your Shakespeare or your poetry, and let's stomp the $#!T out of this virus once and for all.
