MEDFIELD, MA — About 26 percent of the town's nearly 11,300 residents have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to new state data released Thursday. The state's vaccine rollout prioritizing the most vulnerable residents is bearing fruit in Medfield, where those 65 or older have received the most vaccinations despite making up just 17 percent of the town's population. Seventy-four percent of those 65+ have received at least one dose. Overall, at least 2,945 of 11,260 residents in Medfield have received at least one dose, and at least 1,326 are fully vaccinated. You can download the data here by clicking on the Weekly COVID-19 Municipality Vaccination Data. The Department of Public Health also released town-by-town coronavirus metrics, which showed slight upticks in the coronavirus metrics, although Medfield remained a moderate risk community. The positive test rate rose from 1.14 percent to 1.48 percent, while the average daily incidence rate per 100,000 was 14.6. There were 23 confirmed cases in the past two weeks, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 493. Note: The data omitted vaccinated residents age 0-19 because fewer than 30 in that bracket were vaccinated. The percentages are still relatively correct but are estimations given 1-29 vaccinations are missing from the data.
