CHELMSFORD, MA — For the first time, early voting in person and vote by mail look set to be allowed for a local municipal election.
Governor Charlie Baker, is set to sign legislation that would allow early voting for Chelmsford's town wide elections this April 6.
"If approved by Governor Baker, our plans are to hold Early Voting in person during regular business hours from Monday, March 29 - Friday April 2," the town clerk's office said Friday.
There are two town wide contested races to watch: Select Board and Planning Board.
There are two seats up for election. Four people, including incumbent George Dixon, are running for Select Board.
As for Planning Board, there are two seats up for election and both incumbents plan to fight for them with two others vying to take over.
